2010
sees the fifth Uplands Festival during the last weekend
of May (Friday 28 - Sunday 30 May 2010)
Following the growing success of the Festival, this
year promises to be better again. Sponsors and organisers
have pulled out all the stops to entertain the Lowveld
in style. The von Memerty family will be back in the
theatre with a brand new show, The Circle of Life,
and the beer marquee will be kept lively by jazz and
other musicians.
Should
a South African team have done well enough to host
the Super 14 final in South Africa, it will be screened
in the beer and food marquees. A nail-biting rugby
match will also take place between Penryn and Uplands
College, alongside competitive hockey and netball.
There will be a hockey Masters’ home fixture
and the equestrian centre is hosting a graded event.
The
craft market will have many new stalls from around
the country, and the children’s entertainment
area goes BIG again with giant slides, mini quad bikes,
diesel trains on a track and climbing walls, to name
but a few of the many attractions.
The
food marquee will again be full of tantalising and
exciting creations, to visit after a show or a stop-off
at the Art Exhibition, which is growing to be one
of the biggest in the Lowveld!
