2011
sees the sixth Uplands Festival during the last weekend
of May (Friday 27 - Sunday 29 May 2011)
Following the growing success of the Festival, this
year promises to be better again. Sponsors and organisers
have pulled out all the stops to entertain the Lowveld
in style. There will be brand new theatre shows and
the beer marquee will be kept lively by jazz and other
musicians.
The
Super Rugby will be screened in the beer and food
marquees. A nail-biting rugby match also takes place
between Uplands College and Penryn, alongside competitive
hockey and netball. The Equestrian Centre is hosting
a graded event with show jumping on Saturday and dressage
on Sunday.
The
Produkta Uplands Festival of 2011 sees the launch
of an annual MTB Classic on Sunday morning. The three
different routes are sure to entice the cyclists back
next year: a 50 km ride, an 18km ride suitable for
families and a 5 km fun ride for the little ones.
The craft market will have many new stalls from around
the country, and the children's entertainment area
goes BIG again with giant slide, water walkers, diesel
train on a track, mechanical surfboard and parachute
rocket, to name but a few of the many attractions.
The
food marquee will again be full of tantalising and
exciting creations, to visit after a show or a stop-off
at the Art Exhibition, which is growing to be one
of the biggest in the Lowveld!

exciting weekend.
This
